Jadon Daniel Fuller
10 lbs 9 oz 22 inches 9/14/06

My fourth homebirth has been a journey into my own childhood. Baby Jadon taught his mommy to become a better child of God and simply obey His great voice.

From the very beginning of this pregnancy, testing was an evident theme. How deeply did we believe in God’s calling for our family? Would we choose His way over the way of our flesh?

We chose to follow His way. It took great patience as I went a week past my due date. It took great trust as I had never done that before (my others were early) and people were beginning to become very vocal in their concerns.

Finally at God’s appointed time, 4:15 pm on September 14, labor began! The beautiful strong contractions that I had prayed for began to get steady. I called my husband and shared the good news, and then I called Kathy. Baby Jadon was on his way.

I walked through the first hour of contractions. It was getting increasingly difficult to walk through them. My husband arrived home around 5:15 to find me at 8 cm. I had to lie down now in a semi sitting position. While these were very strong contractions there was little pain. God was helping through each one as we prayed. Two more hard contractions and I was complete! We prayed. “God, you tell me when to push! I am submitting my body into this birth. Birth this baby your way. Birth him gently.”  Another contraction. No push. A harder one. No push. One more and Jadon went under the pubic bone. My body began to push Jadon down. I was amazed and almost stunned. He was ready to come out! We prayed again – “God you promised me three hard pushes and he would be here. I believe.” Three hard pushes and my precious baby was born. At 6:15 pm Jadon Daniel Fuller emerged in the gentlest, least painful, most prayer filled experience of my life. We will never be the same again.

Isaiah 43:1 “But now this is what the Lord says – he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear Not for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’”
